|We have made some major changes to the enhancement system in BETA... these changes need to be tested as much as possible before release, please report any problems to the bug reporting forums.
|These forums are for suggestions and the development of DarkSpace. Normal posting practicise are more strict here, and as such players should compose themselves and reply to every post in a constructive manner.
Posts not adhering to this rule will be edited, or removed.
|Ship layouts are now audited against the stock template when being spawned.
This auditing should allow for legal modifications, and automatically reset the layouts of ships that have either illegal modifications or have been changed by the Development Team. This allows us to update layouts for ships, without players losing their hard-earned Enhancements.
We would appreciate your assistance in fully testing this code, and look forward to your feedback and any bug reports in regards to it.

|Planet capturing is now allowed, although please be considerate and avoid capturing, bombing or blockading the Shipyard planets for other factions.|
|We are trying to test the AI... so if you play in beta, please do not bomb or capture planets. You may kill all the enemy ships you like, but leave the planets alone.
|The following changes have been made to key-bindings to address some issues with devices interfering with each other, as well as foreign language layout issues.
- Changed cloak to use the "V" key, in keeping with other faction special abilties.
- Changed Mines to use the "B" key.
- Changed ECM to use the "M" key.
- Changed ECCM to use the "P" key (Ping)
- Changed Scanners to use the "K" key.
|The layouts for the following ship classes are now ready for testing:
- Super Dreadnoughts (Assault + Command class)
- Standard Dreadnoughts
|The following ship classes are all ready for testing in the current beta:
We would appreciate players not using any of the other ship classes, as they have not yet been balanced to work under the layout rules.
|The equipment layouts for all cruisers, dreadnoughts, and stations have not yet been adjusted for 484 balance-wise.
Barring any significant bugs, any "combat testing" with or otherwise involving those ships is essentially irrelevant at this time.
Food for thought: just because you can grab a cruiser or dreadnough does not mean that you should. The same thing happened during 483's beta, smaller ships (scouts, destroyers) werent tested properly because players kept rushing to fly dreadnoughts.
And we can all see how that turned out.
